Surfing Day 2

Well, it appears that a combination of good teaching and a lack of fear means that I can surf. After about five hours tuition, when the instructor says 'paddle .... Up', I get up and stay up pretty consistently. Not big waves, not hanging ten, but having a lot of fun. This could easily become a habit.

The girls did really well yesterday, and were keen this morning, but then Hope got hit by a big wave while not watching that knocked her confidence, and Floss (now known by her surfing name of Freedom - think Mel Gibson) has lost a big toenail (cue lots of Baywatch style lifeguard action). Being a trooper but it's sore and treatment will be slow. Not sure she'll get back in the water tomorrow, but she was still positive for later days.

This was Hope after lunch, doing some boogie boarding. Fun in the big waves.

Now to go get the board wax off my feet.
