Fen dyke

I spent the day with the new work experience student. She is interested in jewellery design so the shop environment is something she chose. She won't get to design any jewellery but she will learn a lot about dealing with the public and how a small business operates. She has only just turned fifteen so today she learnt how to greet customers and deal with their requests and how to use the telephone. I felt like I was putting my old teacher's hat back on which was quite nice. The sun shone and the straight road out of the village onto the fen gleamed in the the sunshine.
