A day of two halves. Spent part of the afternoon chez jaybroek, enjoying a barbecue with various friends including his brother-in-law nobsdownunder, who I've known for almost twenty years and hadn't seen for far too long. So great to see him and I really wished I could have stayed there longer, but I had to dash off for the Film Festival closing night events – a pre-film reception, the closing gala screening, then a fab party in the sculpture court at Edinburgh College of Art. Oh yes, and then a couple more drinks in the Blazer til three – it was their last night of EIFF late opening, it would have been rude not to... ;-)

Nav (or Navid Noorbakhsh, to give him his full, magnificent, name) joined the staff of the Festival for the first time this year, as Ticket Coordinator. A lovely fella and a pleasure to work with.
