Or possibly not. Apparently, that's just the marketing name given to a particular variety grown in Israel. And I've thrown out the packaging. So it might just be your common or garden persimmon. But whatever it is...

I was in the supermarket with Victoria at the weekend, when she spotted these. I hadn't had one for ages; I'd forgotten how nice the texture and the flavour are. And I thought the colour of the skin, together with the texture of the <whatever the technical term is for the stalky-leafy bit at the top>, would make it a good subject for a shot.

I made a curry tonight, and I often like to add a bit of fruit. So you can guess where today's "model" ended up! :)
