Goldfinch

Well the goldfinch did make its appearance today and had a Nyjer seed feast (see yesterday's blip). It is still rather nervous so I had to photograph it through the window, at some distance, which means it required a lot of cropping afterwards.

Maybe I should have asked it to wipe its mouth before I took its portrait (lol). They are very pretty birds although I am told they are very slovenly when it comes to keeping a clean tidy nest!
