Moby Dick and the Return of the Jedi

This morning I walked past this piece of graffiti. No what's going on here? A rescue spacecraft, looking a bit like Thunderbird 4, is crashing into the sea - flames shooting out of the back - while a sperm whale breaches and watches the scene through it's glaring eye. This couldn't have been a casual job, you would need scaffolding or a least a ladder - so it's been planned and well executed but what is it all about?
