Annual General Meeting

Today was the Beltane Fire Society AGM.

As a retiring Trustee (and also standing for re-election) I was due there an hour early to set up. G and I turned up dutifully at 1pm. The gates of the venue we had booked were still closed. Odd, but we were sure T would have it in hand. Long story but the short version involved a lot of phone calls, banging on doors and gates, shouting and yelling. After 40 minutes, clearly no one in the building and members starting to arrive, we started sourcing alternate venues. Thankfully the pub down the street let us use their upstairs room! We were saved.

Needless to say, I got re-elected (despite my poor effort of a speech). So I am about to embark on my third and final year as a charity Trustee. Now we just need to get us all together and fight out roles :)
