Dance Degas

We went to a great concert this morning, a local children's dance company, at an old theater, designed for kids to attend during their summer time vacations and even better it was free!
The Degas Dance Company performed at least 10 different numbers showing proper ballet, tap, jazz, improvisational and freeze dance. The youngest kids were 3 years old and the oldest probably around 15-16.
Some of the older kids were magnificent. My daughter's favourite was a girl who performed a beautiful very classical ballet piece with what seemed like over three-quarters of it on point. Ouch! I liked the teenage boy's solo as it was very dramatic but he really showed that he knew what he was doing.
The popular ones with the audience as a whole were of course the numbers done by the three three year olds who barely knew what they were doing but were doing it with gusto and in front of a crowd of well over 100 people with yelling and clapping and lots of oohs!
Anyway next week is the CSUN Drama workshop so that should be good and the following week is Peter Pan! Bring on summer fun! My daughter and her friends tried so hard to reenact the dance moves this afternoon - I feel a week of dancing coming on!
