Wild flowers

The wild flowers are loving the wet weather. I drove up Martin Road on my way to the cabin and there were carpets of lupine, daisies, hawkweed, buttercups and bird's foot trefoil along the roadway. It was a warm, sunny morning in Duluth but by the time I arrived at the lake it was considerably cooler, wind and rainy. Had a great time while in Duluth this weekend. Sue and I went to the rhubarb festival near Leif Erickson park then to her friend, Paula's garden party on Saturday. Paula has done a ton of work on a condemned house built in 1890's. It was beautiful and so are her gardens. Monte and I had a great dinner of pork ribs, asparagus and potato salad with a gorgeous mile high strawberry pie (made by Monte) at Kevin and Mary's. Kevin cooked the ribs in his new smoker and they were delicious! I also got a chance to see Dan and Melissa's, adorable new puppy.
