Decoupage.....
Outside one of my favourite quirky, Chorlton coffee shops, The Post Box Cafe, there has been a 'house and garden' craft market. This coffee shop is very committed to the local community and often puts on events in the coffee shop and on the little terrace outside. Like this market.
Chorlton has a number of thriving independent coffee shops and this has not been lost on the big boys of the industry. Costa Coffee has already opened, Cafe Nero has taken on a very run down (on the point of falling down) shop unit and, apparently, Starbucks are looking for a place.
Hopefully, none of the independents will go to the wall. Can't see it happening personally. People in Chorlton love their independents and are loyal to their favourite coffee shops. I support four regularly including The Post Office Cafe. If you are in Chorlton and need a caffeine fix please support the independents. I also enjoy a coffee in Barbakan and if I want tea I go to TEAHIVE on Manchester Road or Serendipitea on painfully uber cool Beech Road.
Here's a picture of some decoupaged pottery on a stall at the market....
