Tortoiseshell Emergence Day

I'm guessing that the conditions were just right for the tortoiseshell butterfly to hatch and fly free and I think they must have all made for my Hebe in the front garden because it was covered in them, all trying to have their first feed - such a beautiful sight to behold. I have had rather a busy day which culminated in visiting my granddaughter, whose birthday it is today, so I wasn't able to stand around and take many shots of the butterflies, much to my annoyance. I am visiting my mum tomorrow who also has a birthday and I am really behind with my comments, sorry, I will catch up with you all as soon as I can :-))
