Life in Sunny Dubai

Mono Monday - Reflections

Blipping early for a change! The sun hasn't gone down even in fact, the cannon has gone off to announce the end of the fast. I have had a crazy day.

Good start at work despite 4 of the team having to move their desks. I didn't have to move mine. The dust though... never mind. That's central a/c for you. Left work on time and thrilled again I didn't have trouble finding a parking space.

Jerome who is back again with Volvo got in touch to let me know what the problem is. A mechanical fault with the thermostat - a spring is sticking and water isn't getting to the engine thereby making it overheat. Problem solved in the interim by completely removing it so I can have the car back to use whilst we wait 10 days for the part to arrive from Sweden. A few other things need to be sorted too but they will all be done the same time.

I was so thrilled, I drove straight to the Creek to get a blip based on reflections. However, the water was not still enough to get any decent reflections so came back home only to find I'd misplaced my house keys! OH NO! Looked everywhere before calling Volvo back to ask if I had maybe left them there. They checked. No.

By this stage I'd already decided to head back there and made it just in time (they close at 5pm for Ramadan). The keys were definitely not there but Jerome walked back to the car with me anyway suggesting other places (e.g. the taxi I took to get there). He then miraculously found my keys! They had got lost in the folds of the t-shirt of the passenger seat. How embarrassing but what a relief! Take 2 on getting back home. This time straight here as I was starving. Again, there were plenty of parking spaces so I have had a late lunch/early dinner and then I decided to go back to my original plan for reflections. This works MUCH better in mono. A selfie that shows the living room and a bit of the garden outside...

Thanks to Rainie for hosting it. Looking forward to next weeks theme of Roads!
