Toenail removed

It's been 18 months since the initial injury & then the last couple of months with a very sore toe, but this afternoon Flossie's toenail was removed, ouch ! !
It must be uncomfortable because so far this evening my brave husband has self medicated himself with painkillers, gin 'n' tonic & a whiskey.
For some reason he's reluctant to let me change the dressing !!!!!!
