GARDEN SURPRISE

I decided today that I would do some decluttering - I got on quite well - and the charity shops will benefit!

Mr. HCB had been out in the garden and persuaded me that I should stop to have a cup of coffee (but no cake!) so we sat in the garden underneath our very large honeysuckle bush. I tried some more macro shots of various flowers and the honeysuckle, just wishing that I could also blip the perfume because it was absolutely wonderful.

As I was wandering around the garden, I looked down and saw this beautiful dragonfly just sitting quietly on the honeysuckle - and this had to be the my blip for today. I called Mr. HCB over and he looked in his British Wildlife book again and identified it as a Brown Hawker, which has a brown body and bronze wings with distinctive yellow markings on the side of the body. I had to lie down on the stones to take lots of shots but then had the job of trying to find the best one for my blip.

Now back to decluttering - we have unexpected visitors coming tomorrow, so I can't leave the house in a mess!

I have never written a Haiku before but inspired by Admirer, here is my first one:

Thank you for all your kind comments on my butterfly yesterday - which got it into the Spotlight.
