Post Jaunt Pup
Saturday afternoon was John's cousins wedding. Afterwords we all (John's mom, brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew, as well as John, his daughter and myself) went back to John's moms for dinner and an drinks.
Well I took sima over there to hang out with Memphis, Cole's Great Dane. They were happily playing and chilling on the back deck and we had blocked the stairs like we always do. About half way through our late in the day dinner john notices that sima is no longer on the deck and the gate had been knocked down.
The next hour and a half we spend roaming around the neighborhood and the nearby neighborhoods looking for her with no luck. So here I am, my dog is missing and in an area that is A) not her home and B) a heavily wooded as well as being within 5 miles of two major highways and sima has no car smarts.
I felt like I had lost my child and continued to feel like that for the next four hours. John and I had set up to camp on the back deck in case she came back to the house. John had fallen asleep and I was laying there listening when I suddenly heard a gain tinkle, waited and heard it again. I grabbed the mag light and started calling sima and walked around to the format of the house.
And sima came prancing towards me from the front porch. I have never been so relieved and thankful in my entire life. I wanted to kill her at the same time all I wanted to do was love on her. The loving won. Although she did get punishment in the form of a bath cause she smelled like a bog.
