Break from the fiestas: Sunday afternoon bike ride

It was difficult to pick just one photo for today. In the morning, I cut through a peña parade on the way to visiting a church, then on the way back walked past the cathedral where the many people wearing beautiful traditional Burgos dress were milling around, having laid down hundreds of flowers in offering to Santa María. In the evening I enjoyed the fiesta and practising Spanish with a new friend, and joined a peña in dancing to jazz music in one of the squares!

But my favourite part of the day was probably when I went on a bike ride in the afternoon through the woods and by the river. A little slice of nature only 20 minutes from the city centre!
