Baby Kestrels
For the last few weeks up at Pickering Castle there's been a cordoned-off area with a telescope at the end, pointing at a hole in the outer wall where a kestrel has made its nest. We've been up a couple of times before today and peered through the telescope without seeing any signs of life. Today we wandered up and the young birds were hanging around by the exit hole, looking like they might be about ready to fly the nest soon.
