Windsor

We had fun at the horse racing last night. We got there at about 6pm and left at 8.30pm so we were only there for a few races, which was enough. It was strange being at the same social event as my son and his friends but he soon got over it! As the sun sets so late during summer there was lovely light until after we left to go to the pub for supper. As I don't know anything about horses I bet on a horse that was my lucky number, and he turned out to be the winner! That was very satisfying!

Today we met up with some friends from South Africa who are holidaying in England. They are barging on a stretch of The Thames that is 96km long passing some beautiful towns along the way. We met them in Windsor and this is the view from their boat, looking onto Windsor Castle. The smoke drifting across the river is from a BBQ from another family who are also barging. It seems like great fun and hopefully they have good weather for the week.
