Caffiene needed
Today has been a very long day!!!
After a restless night of tossing and turning in bed, over thinking about the day ahead as ?City Girl? and what The Yankee (my boss) would have on the agenda for another hectic day in the world of finance, I had a feeling today was going to be a tough one, after only 4 hours sleep!!!
Why am I always so restless on a Sunday night?
06.30 ? First coffee of the day, thanks to ?Mr Bean? at my local station, life saver!
I was pleased to see that for the first time in two weeks my trains were on time and commuters were not screaming at each other to ?MOVE DOWN? the already packed carriages. Finally we can commute in our normal miserable state with out worrying about the snow or ice slowing us down??I better not say too much, I have seen the weather forecast for Wednesday!!!
Every morning, snow, wind, rain or shine, at West Hampstead station there is a homeless man who sits at the top of the stairs to the exit of the platform selling 2nd hand books. Each morning commuters will say hello to him, on the odd occasion buy a book from him, I have even seen children give him an apple on their way to school. This morning I put a pound in his cup, not much I know but it?s something and it gave me a thought.
Thousands of people use the line I travel to London on every day, and thousands of people get off at my station and walk past this homeless man, imagine if every morning I put £1 into his cup. There is around 260 week days per year, which wouuld mean the homeless man would get £260 a year from me alone, BUT imagine if 20 commuters a day put £1 into his cup every working day, the homeless man would have around £5200 a year (£433.33 per month, £108.33 per week), imagine what difference that would make to his life. Just a thought!!!
3 skinny latte?s, 2 peppermint teas later the hard part of the day is over?..I LOVE STARBUCKS
Almost time to head home, looking forward to dinner and cuddles with E
