Looks Good To Me

Wild Fish Wives

I was in the mood for some fresh local oysters today, but Cynthia didn't feel like going to the Bellingham Farmers' Market after taking her daughter to catch the Greyhound bus home, so I went there myself.

After picking up a couple of (baker's) dozen of the petites, some raspberries, a small berry pie, and half a pound of pepperoni from Skagit Valley Cured Meats, I stashed them all in the ice chest back at the car and returned for a stroll with my camera.

The brightly colored sweatshirts worn by these charming Wild Fish Wives caught my eye, so I headed in that direction. Before asking permission for a blip photo, I commented that they didn't look very wild to me. A.R.'s response was "what you don't know can't hurt you!" She's the one on the left, and is married to the fisher Dave Mann, who is currently in Alaska -- fishing, of course.

Thank you, Wild Fish Wives. Next time I'm at the market I'll buy some of your salmon!
