100 Happy Days: #86

Date night!

Tonight Sophie and I went to Dans le Noir (translates as "In the Dark") in London.

The idea is that the restaurant is pitch black. You couldn't even see your hand in front of your face! The waitress was blind and took us to and from out tables in a conga line!

As for the food and drink, the logic behind it is that you taste food with your eyes as much as your mouth. You tell your self what something will taste of before you taste it. But take away your sight and all you have is taste and smell.


We chose from 1 of 4 themed set menus, but the exact contents was a mystery until the end. The result was that everything tasted so much more intense. Chicken, boar, the wine, and even the salad leaves all became more vivid. As for drinking... Well, you just had to be careful and not too bothered about picking up someone else's glass!
