Cow-Pies
Cow-pies are only,
Droppings from a cow.
That are spread over the field,
In readiness for the plow.
In the barn-yard they abound,
And they come before my eye.
Aimlessly let loose,
About the size of a pie.
The cow has not thought,
Where they might be put.
What cares she..if you,
Step in with your foot.
Cow-pies are like Buffalo chips,
Good fire wood...they lack.
And content you would be,
For the soil to take them back.
Cow-pies maketh a bright meadow,
Colorful in the dawn.
They are an enrichment given,
And the cow goes on.

There is a little cow-pie that the doll and me and my sisters' feet are on. This was at our family reunion...now I know where it originated. :))
