Day 16: 100 Years since the Assassiantion

On this day 100 years ago, Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated by Gavrilo Princip, at this here spot. This event was the trigger for the start of World War I.

It's so awesome to be living in such a historic city. There are lots of events going on, but they seem to be mostly for foreign dignitaries. There is also a performance of the Vienna Philharmonic been broadcast around the city.

I didn't actually get to spend lots of time today seeing what was going on, because I have been helping with the WARM Festival which happens over the next couple of days, so expect lots of updates on that.
