Empty Nest

Pottering in the garden before the rain came on. We thought it would be interesting to have a peek inside the nesting box now that the tenants have moved out. To our surprise there was a little egg that hadn't developed. The nest looked very cosy. Quite a lot of material has been taken into the box to build this. No wonder the little birds were so busy.

Roxy got a whiff and was excitedly trying to get her snout inside to see what was there.

Feels a bit like an empty nest here too. School stopped yesterday for the summer. Daughter went to stay with her friend last night and tonight they are going to another friends house to stay. All the girls are in the 'Top Team' next year. Daughter has been appointed as a Prefect.
