Upper Inverroy

I had a long day spent with a man from the survey kit company we deal with. Though based in Edinburgh he is a very polite young Highland Gentleman and his technical expertise is considerable. Any time I have had a problem in the past he seems to have taken as his personal duty to resolve it.
The visit was to show me the latest generation GPS kit. It is wrong to say GPS these days because this term refers only to the American space vehicles. Differential satellite surveying makes use of Russian and Chinese SVs too. Suffice to say Trimble's latest offering in this field was pretty impressive. Surveying in the middle of an open hillside has never been difficult and the manufacturers have to try very hard to make kit work in more and more difficult situations like forest, areas without mobile coverage or zones in shadow and out of radio modem range from our own base station. The boxes aren't all ticked but it gets closer.
After D left I had a wee bit of cad to conclude and when trying to post this fell asleep at the computer, hence posting a day late.
I got some fresh air with Caley at UI.
