I'm a butterfly

I may look like a snake. Or a doorstop. But I'm a butterfly.

I look like this so my enemies won't tangle with me.

Earlier I looked like bird poo so they wouldn't eat me.

I'm crafty.

But not crafty enough to avoid being put in the butterfly tent at the Natural History Museum
