Doing the turkey trot
For the past week I've been hearing about sightings of the baby turkeys in the park. Finally today I spotted them. A dog walker told me he had just seen them crossing the path and heading into the weeds. I don't know how much you know about turkeys, but one thing you need to know if you want to blip a turkey is that they can move fast...really fast. I hurried down one trail without seeing them, so I took the next trail, and finally there they were. They came out of the woods, dashed across the trail, and disappeared again into the underbrush. A photographer friend and I tracked them until we finally spotted them again, getting ready to cross yet another trail. Turkeys can fly, but they really don't fly much; however, they sure can run, but today I managed to outrun them and finally got a few pictures.
For the dog loving blippers
I just posted a picture of a puppy I met today, an adorable three-month old beagle. You can see two pictures of her here in my dogs and their people gallery.
