Friday: A Moment In Time

Luckily, my meetings finished early enough to give me a bit of free time.  I did have a bit of shopping to do (the usual food items we can't get) but my main aim was to go and have a look at Foyles new store on Charing Cross Road.

I did actually go in for something specific, but then a few non-intended items also feel into my clutches.  Titles, and very weak justification, below:

'Game of Thrones 2: Clash of Kings' (yes, I have given in and the first one I finished yesterday was a real page turner)
'Diaries' by George Orwell and
'Letters' by the same (the day I read my last Orwell novel was a sad day.  He is probably my favourite author so these two had to be bought)
'Less Than One: Selected Essays by Joseph Brodsky (I loved this when I borrowed it from a friend many years ago and it was only when I gave if back I realised it was hard to come by.  Anyway, it seems to have been reissued, so I was delighted)

I really like this moment on the steps of St Martin's - all the various things going on which can never be recreated in the same way.
