The Ministry of Silly Names

For some reason hairdressers and fast food outlets seem to revel in puns and silly names. It may be just the type of personality you need to run one but more likely it is a not so subtle form of branding and name recognition - as in our entry for 16 May.

Anyway, I came across a great example of this rule yesterday when I saw a fish-and-chip shop in Treorchy called (drum roll please!) "A Fish Called Rhondda." (Younger readers may need to try IMDb or Googling John Cleese's career.) I couldn't stop to take a photo but it reminded me of the above example of the genre which I did snap in Port Talbot some years ago.
