Election day

What a fun and exhausting day. I volunteered all day at a polling place asking voters to support our candidate as they entered the building.

Highlights and lowlights included a volunteer for a different candidate who told all the voters proudly that his candidate would "put Christianity back in government", people who shared food, cold water, shade, and companionship on a hot summer day, and voters who had no clue who they were going to vote for as they headed in to cast their vote, and weren't afraid to tell you so. Democracy. It isn't always pretty, but It's better than any other system so far. Happily, our candidate won by a wide margin, his first time running for statewide office. It always feels good when, despite all its flaws, the system comes up with the right outcome!
