Best building in Manchester!
Had a lovely day in Manchester with my son who has just completed his undergraduate degree in architecture. We went to his degree show, had a look round the Manchester School of Art then went to the Trafford Centre. Then I loaded up the car with all his stuff and drove back to Glasgow.
I got so many potential blips today. The new Benzie building in MSA was lovely and I really liked the concrete pillars that had designs from the school's textile archives set into the concrete. The Trafford Centre was full of mock roman statues, marble pillars, fountains with golden nymphs and mermaids - a footballers wives version of a shopping centre.
But the best building I saw today was the one designed by my son for his final project. Not that I'm biased or anything...
