The Bridge of Sighs
Our last day spent with Stephen. After sorting out items that we could bring home we had a last wander around Cambridge and made the most of the student access to some of the colleges.
This is the Bridge of Sighs which links St. John's Third Court to New Court. The bridge was built in 1930's and has the same name as the bridge in Venice. There were no cars hung below the bridge today - apparently in the past students have punted an Austin Seven and a three wheeler under the bridge where they have been slung with ropes under the bridge.
I liked the effort the young lady was putting in to propelling the punt along. I would just be glad to get it moving in the first place.
Stephen is staying in Cambridge and commuting to London to work for three months as a paid intern at Justice. So we will not see much of him this summer.
