Corn bunting

Terrible light this afternoon as storm clouds were building in a slate-grey sky - result, lots of grainy pics ...

I saw a group of kestrels - the parents and 4 chicks out hunting and as I arrived one was chasing a rabbit which was much too big for it and I have never seen a kestrel chase or hunt a rabbit.

Perhaps it was one of the young kestrels that was just trying things out.

I also noticed that they were being mobbed by a group of red kites, which is not all that unusual.
