There's something very satisfying about a field which has been cut for silage, maybe some instinctive need to know that crops have been harvested - "all is safely gathered in". When I passed the field this morning, it was full of crows pecking away at the fallen seeds. I thought I'd come back later for a photo, but someone came round for tea and by the time I cycled out, they had long gone.
