Wayne and Jenny

Tonight was Rotary's 70th changeover and our very good friends Wayne and Jenny were recognised by being the recipients of their community service award.

Jenny, with friends started the Rhodo Revue, has been in it, written it, directed it or been part of the support crew for the last 30 odd years. Done the P&C. Then the School Council. Saved our pool. Stood as a support for one of our councillors and just about got a clean sweep vote in Blackheath.

And no wonder.

Wayne's been a founding member of BAG, saving us from the big trucks. Founding member of the Frog Hollow Bush care Group. Founding member of Streetscape - actively looking after our town, president of the hall committee and ensuring that Blackheath retains ownership of the hall that the community build - the only community run hall in the mountains.

And on it goes.

They do it all quietly with grace and style.

I adore them both, but the fact that Jenny is the best maker of dessert in Blackheath, perhaps the mountains, well, that just seals it.
