Room With a View

This little pill box sits forgotten overlooking our river. As far as I can ascertain it was built during the war to allow our river to be surveyed I am guessing for submarines given that there were a lot of yards and shipping on the river.

Sadly like a lot of these forgotten little buildings it has suffered from vandalism and lack of maintenance and is now falling into disrepair. It makes me sad to see but I suspect it is just how it is....
