Day 2
Thanks to all that commented on yesterday's blip.
Like yesterday's, today's is using the HDR technique that I am just learning how to do. It almost makes the photos look fake, but I still like it... hope you do too!
So many pictures to choose from today, but this one happened to be where our adventure today started....at Preah Ko, the first temple to be built in the area that is today called Roluos (close to the main group of temples at Angkor).
Aside from visiting other temples, today also saw me ride on a motorcycle for the first time--an off-road dirt bike. Plenty of uneven terrain, fast speeds, and no helmet (sorry mom!). The bikes took us to a place where we got on a boat to a beautiful "floating village" where 5,000 people live in houses built on stilts for the high water season.
During the second part of the day, we ate a good Cambodian lunch and visited more temples (one of which was used to film Tomb Raider with Angelina Jolie).
A perfect day ended with a perfect meal at the Butterfly Garden, an enclosed-by-netting outdoor restaurant that is filled with butterflies flying around. Again, the experience was beyond words beautiful and amazing.
