Death of a Snowman

The death of a snowman
it was a very sad day,
when the warm air came in
he started melting away.

All the children enjoyed him
the whole winter long,
but now needed to protect him
from the sun that was so strong.

They saw he was getting shorter
minute after minute,
so they tried to put him in the freezer
but could'nt get him in it.

They needed to save him
his time was running out,
so the children split up
to search all about.

One found an ice box
outside of a store,
but it was locked up
and bolted to the floor.

It was'nt looking good
for this snowman to survive,
another kid found an ice cream truck
but did'nt know how to drive,

They all hurried back to the snowman
because they had an idea,
but it was too late
he was no longer there.

What was once a snowman
was not anymore,
he was now a puddle of water
that sat on earths floor.

The children took the water
and put it in a glass,
and for the death of their snowman
they performed their own mass.

A very sad day it was
for the children to see,
for the life of their snowman
was no longer to be.
