Remembered in stone
This morning's run before work took me along Anzac Street in Takapuna, and past the Takapuna Primary School, on my way to run along Takapuna Beach. These gate posts at the entrance to the school carry the names of those ex-pupils of the school who fought in the World War of 1914 to 1918. Many would have died as a result of the war. This year is 100 years after the start of the war, which was to end war. Sadly, that has not happened.
