Despite the photo, during the day the weather was absolutely beautiful so we thought we'd try going to the Idrascalo, a park just outside Milan near Linate airport. Essentially its a huge man-made lake originally commissioned by Mussolini, now you can sunbathe, do water-sports and cycle around there. Was really nice to be able to swim and get out of the boiling city for a while. In the evening we had a Mexican night, complete with fajitas, a sombrero and lots of tequila. Thats when the storm began, we were in my friends' 7th floor flat so had a pretty amazing view of the lightening over Milan. Unfortunately iPhone cameras are pretty good but one of their main downfalls is that they cannot take night shots. Luckily it had subsided a bit before we headed back out towards Linate to Magnolia, a huge outdoor concert venue where Groove Armada were djing. Of course as its so far out of the city, this meant having to get a taxi all the way back which at first caused a bit of a problem as there weren't any. This was until a prepaid taxi pulled up in front of us and called my friends name, despite none of us having called for a taxi. We're all still vaguely unclear about how this happened, but pretty sure we just took someone else who unfortunately (for them) had the same name's taxi. Apologies.
