Officially a person

So today we took MBD to be registered - so she is now officially our beautiful daughter (OBD it is I guess). It was nice for her to have my surname for a while - as the fella and I aren't married until she's registered it was only me who has official parental responsibility hence her being named after me in hospital - but it was time for us to become a proper official family. And you never know I might take their surname one of these days. It's weird to think that the piece of paper will be used for passports and bank accounts as OBD grows but also that it is now permanently in the records for people to search in hundreds of years time!

The registry office is in the library - which has had a massive makeover since I was last in there and is really impressive and far from the quiet libraries I remember - so we picked up OBD's free baby books and registered her at the library. I love reading and want to pass that love on so I think we'll spend some time there.

After a pop back home for lunch and a siesta, we then walked to the doctors to hand over my hospital paperwork and register her there too. On the way back called in at a fab bakery n treated ourselves to proper bread, a treacle tart and a lemon tart (single sized) and a cookie and a brownie! We didn't eat all at once!

We then had another really unsettled evening with OBD - she was crying a lot and feeding quite a bit as well as being a bit sicky. A call into the midwife support line set our minds at rest but it was hard going.
