Day 12: Sarajevan Hills
I wasn't in the office today, so I did a bit of work at home in the morning, and then met up with a fellow intern. We got an ice cream, then went on a walk up one of the Sarajevan hills.
The roads were pretty steep, but it was well worth it for the amazing views. This was one of many cemetaries that we came across, and the vast majority of those buried there died between 1992 and 1996 in the Siege of Sarajevo. We also walked down Logavina Street, the subject of a book by Barbara Demick, written during the Siege, which I definitely want to read. The recent history of this city really interests me, and I hope to explore it more while I'm here
