Cloud Mountain ......

............... or that's what it looked like to me.

Left home 5 minutes ahead of schedule, arrived London Heathrow to check in at 12.45 ...... Terminal Two, which has been open less than 4 weeks .... no belts working - serious malfunction!!!
The check in lady's words were " just put your bags down there and they will be collected" - ''down there'' was on the floor in the main terminal!!
Really???
State of the art terminal and the bags go on the floor.
We then wait and see them stacked up in the corner - again in the public area - along with many, many other pieces of luggage.

The flight was delayed 40 minutes - entry into Washington DC was smooth but, surprise surprise (not) no bags .. and no bags for over 50% of the other passengers either!

No worries (we were told) they will be put on the first flight out of London on Monday morning and forwarded to your chosen address later on that day (ours is Hawaii).

Great flight, weird food ...... lovely hotel suite for the overnight stop.
The Hyatt Place in Chantilly, VA - I recommend it if you want a great sleep, very helpful and friendly staff and a decent breakfast .... and a free airport shuttle.
