St Mary's Light

Had a rare day off work today because we stayed the extra night down in Sunderland. So we took our merry time getting home and stuck to little coast roads pretty much all the way until we left Lindisfarne, by which time I was wiped out and just got us back asap.
It was a great day. First stop was the Souter Lighthouse and a clifftop walk, followed by the seaside sights of Whitley Bay and Blyth, another lighthouse (the one in the pic!) and another walk, lunch in Alnmouth (a day too late for their Art Festival unfortunately), a slight detour as I headed South instead of North, then over the causeway to the Holy Island and a wander up to Lindisfarne Castle and around the priory ruins. And sunny almost the whole time, who'd have thought?!
