Peoples Assembly March against austerity - London

This woman - and about 50,000 others - took to the streets of London on a brilliantly bright summer day to protest against the UK government. The event got little mainstream media coverage so you can see my coverage of the event here..

What I want to see at future anti cuts events are people/reps from organisations who have faced horrific cuts and overcome them by 'being the alternative' and 'doing different' and sharing their knowledge/experiences. That, to me, is what organising is about. As well as marching and striking.

I don't want to listen to celebritites talking about 'we' or vote chasing politicians. I have sod all in common with them.
