Peter

for once his timing was right - we were here having just returned from N& R's where we had been busy topping up the skip with garden waste.

There was a compost corner in their garden & there was all manner of stuff chucked there, there was a Christmas Tree, a Sony Walkman complete with James Brown tape, a Sony Discman, a CD, a calculator, a techy calculator, batteries, spent fireworks, flower pots, a writing set, a technical drawing set, grass cuttings & shrub clippings, plus concrete, bricks & rusty iron Metposts, an English dictionary and a leather holdall & a 10p piece...I kept expecting to find a body ..... In the middle of it all was a ground Bee's nest which I was sorry to disturb. I also cut down the self set ash tree, which was bigger than I thought ! Carol cut down the pyracantha which has opened up the garden & made it feel bigger. We emptied the shed of all detritus and chucked out odds & ends that were in the garage. The skip is indeed full & ready to go now having used all available space & then some.

Had a nice chat with Sarah (and Nipper) again and met Julia who lives in the corner house - opposite to the right.

Got home at 4 and at 5 Peter called in and we had a cup of tea & a chat in our garden where we witnessed what can only be described as a feeding frenzy. Suddenly 20 - 30 house martins & several swallows too appeared over the apple trees in S's garden. It was quite a spectacular show as the birds dived & darted to get their pick of what I assume to be a swarm of insects. I fired off 50 shots but they were travelling at 40mph + and the shots were very blurred though you could see what they were...interesting phenomena.

C just been for a shower & gone to see her mum, I'm just about to shower before dinner which will consist of Notalot !

Nicola just phoned to say Thank you & R texted me also to say cheers.

N confessed to finding a lump in a bad place & went straight to the Drs, fortunately there is nothing to worry about......phew !

Very hot day with the odd spot of rain - overcast now with thunder rumbling...

What a day !
