Woke up with a headache and contemplated not doing a walk today. But Miss S was really keen to do it, so I put on my trainers and off we went. 2 miles later a blister had formed on my heel and I was seriously debating turning round and coming home. But I didn't. The walk did my headache the world of good and the blister coped ok without too much pain.
Took Miss S out after lunch to get her some new trainers. Had an incident crossing a road where she panicked because she couldn't find me and nearly ran across a busy main road. My heart was in my throat but thankfully two fantastic drivers stopped to let her cross safely. I nearly cried. She'll be taking herself to school on her own next year; the slightest distraction and she loses all concentration. Today scared her. Hopefully she'll learn from this.
Still haven't heard from my friend whose doors I painted. Yesterday I let her off as she must've been busy unpacking. Today she posts all over facebook saying their home from holiday and going for a walk in the woods. Well that's nice, they drive past my house on the way home ... no, they didn't pop in. No thank you, no acknowledgement, nothing. I guess I'll just have to send her an invoice and see what happens! We were like a double act years ago: never went anywhere without each other. I had my girls and she stopped calling and I stopped caring. I felt sorry for her when she got post natal depression. I guess a my help cleaning her house means she now just looks down on me as a maid. Oh well, time for her to start cleaning her own house I guess.
