Great Crested Grebe

Pirate-eyed,
Dragon-ruffed,
Lion-maned,
Pharaoh-masked:
I am water Gypsy -
Diver of the
Deep Truth Lakes.
You are welcome to walk
The margins of the seasons,
The borders between our souls.
But, if you think
To cross the divide

I have been trying to blip these birds for quite a few weeks, because there is a group living on the loch. However, their preferred haunts are in areas of the loch which are not easily accessible from the shoreline. Photographing them, therefore, require a long zoom and I've never been happy with the quality of the shots. Today, I was delighted to come across this grebe making himself comfortable for the night in a large patch of pond plants, and staying still long enough for me to have time to get the shot.
