Home again
We arrived home this evening in time to take Gus for his walk along the estuary. The sun was just descending into the haze on the horizon, the high waters of the Kent reflecting the coppery sky. This dinghy has recently appeared close to the one that has been out all winter. AlasdairB probably won't be able to identify this in silhouette, but I wondered if it is the boat of his friend who has moved back to Arnside.
We came home via BW, catching up with family. We had a debate with Wifie's farmer brother Andrew as to whether Gus would make a suitable sire for their sheep dog Jess. Alas, for all his qualities, Gus lacks that all important piece of paper as evidence of his pedigree, and was rejected as unsitable breeding material. We did try to convince Andrew that Gus has many admirers who might like to have a Guslet, but he was having none of it. A seed of doubt, though, was sown when he saw Gus showing off his herding skills. We shall keep working on it.
I will do a Beverley backblip. In the meantime, this caterpillar was spotted by Andrew, along with its siblings, devouring a figwort plant in their garden.
