'Time Waster'

I haven't really been wasting my time........after 6 hours in the garden today with Pete, hacking down trees and shrubs (I know it's the wrong time of the year) and cutting the grass etc etc.....I had a bit of fun this evening.

This gorgeous Opium Poppy appeared in my driveway...I couldn't get a photo without the house, car or gravel in the background. So I CUT it! They only last a day anyway. The few flowers I picked this morning had to make room for this 'big girl'. So I decided to make a collage of the Poppy..I like the view from the back....and to get the full frontal I nestled her in a Geranium plant.

Flowers in the vase are....Valerian, Rose, Alchemilla Mollis, Penstemon Garnet, Blue Geranium, Astilbe and Fuschia.
